Some of you might remember that about a year ago, I got eyelash extensions to give me fab lashes for a trip to Paris, and ended up having baldy eyes for ages. Well, you’d think I’d learn but here I am, nearly 12 months later, recovering from broken lashes again.
Unlike last time, it wasn’t due to a mishap with a not-so-skilled eyelash extension person, but due to some £1 eyelash curlers I picked up when I lost mine during a particularly skint period.
It took me a while to realise that these were the cause; one day, I woke up and had a few shorter lashes on the outer corner of each of my eyes. Over a few weeks, it got more and more so until basically half of my eyelashes had snapped off. I was using Realash serum* at the time, so I was mega confused why my lashes were shrinking instead of growing. I’ve never had a problem with curlers before, but decided on a whim to stop using them and lo and behold, my lashes grew back.
I have quite naturally long lashes so I was excited to see how Realash extended them, but the whole situation kind of put a stop to that. It definitely helped my lashes grow back to full length quickly though, and if you follow me on Instagram you’ll know that the brow serum is unreal – I grew epic Hagrid brows and said goodbye to my thin straggly ends within two months! (Then I got them shaped up and sorted with my first ever HD Brows* which I loved, despite going in adamant my brows and face would be ruined forever).
Anyway, the moral of this story is do not cheap out and buy £1 eyelash curlers from a pound shop because they will break your eyelashes and you will look shit and spend even more money on eyelash serums because you look shit.
