Jord watch wood

When I was 18, I bought myself a Michael Kors watch. I was working pretty much full time and saving up for university, but I wanted to treat myself. MK wasn’t a known brand back then, and were pretty much the only rose gold chunky watch available at the time. I loved having such a unique piece, and everyone I saw would comment on it.

Then Michael Kors got huge and everyone had nearly identical watches to me. So I sold mine. A tad snobby, but there was nothing special about my watch when 9/10 girls had the same one. Thankfully, the MK phase is over and they’re no longer the must have accessory, but I learnt that I hated being a fashion sheep.

When I was contacted about Jord Watches, I wasn’t too sure about them. I spent a good hour on the website trying to image what a wooden watch would look like on, and eventually I thought the only way I’d know is by trying them. I got sent the Fieldcrest Series in Maple* – I had my eye on the Sidney in Maple and Gold but after my rose gold MK watch, I wanted something a bit more earthy. I was asked my wrist size so that the watch could have links taken out accordingly (I have tiny wrists). The watch arrived really quickly, despite arriving from America, in a wooden watch box. I think I massively underestimated my wrist and had to add a link back in but it was very easy. You get given a little metal pin which can be used to tap out a link, and then it’s a case of adding (or taking away) however many you need and reattaching.

Even though I was a bit dubious of how the Jord watch would look, I actually really like it. Obviously there are a few designs and colours to choose from, but my Fieldcrest is such a neutral colour you could almost get away with it going unnoticed – then once someone does notice it, it’s like bam super unique wooden watch.

You can check out the collection here. Would you get something like this?
