So I’ve mentioned it a million times on here, I’ve given a preview here, and I’ve Instagrammed a few shots but the big day is finally here – my bedroom reveal. After living in gross student houses for years, going unfurnished in a newly renovated house was my dream come true. I’ve built up my room over the past few months and it’s my favourite place in the world right now, especially when I’m having a lazy weekend or bit of a self pity day.
I’ve gone for a very Scandinavian, pastel princess theme throughout and while it can look a bit clinical, I think I have enough bits and bobs that show my style through. I’ve also, for the first time in my life, enjoyed keeping my room tidy – that is how much I love it. I actually tidy up after myself every single day. If that isn’t a step into adulthood, I don’t know what is (except liking olives, and I discovered recently I’m an olive fan! Number 1 adult in the making).
Bed – IKEA / Bedding & Throw – Primark / Cushion – Etsy / Hello sign – Primark (spray painted copper by me) / Lamp – Urban Outfitters / Copper candle – Max Benjamin* / Alarm clock – Jones / Gem stone candle holder – Evolution / Storage box – Amsterdam / Hot water bottle – Cotton Traders* / Ring holder – Next
My bed is actually my favourite thing in the entire world. Despite being an IKEA bed and mattress, it’s super comfy and the white sheets just make it seem fresh. My room itself is quite cold so I’ve been relying on this hot water bottle I was given at a blogger event for Cotton Traders. I really want another bedside table as mine is a little cluttered, but there’s not enough room so I’ve just given up the surface space for aesthetics over practicality. That’s totally acceptable though, right?
Chest of drawers – IKEA / Dressing mirror – eBay / Acrylic makeup storage – TK Maxx / Mason jars – DIY / Copper trinket box – House of Fraser* / Cake stand – Car boot sale
Shelves – home made / Tulips – Amsterdam / Pineapple money box – Joy / Buddha – old / Mini greenhouse – Home Sense (spray painted by me)
I begged my dad to make me these shelves, and he complained the entire time saying he wouldn’t be able to yet, here we are; some amazing shelves that you literally can’t buy anywhere. It was originally pine wood shelves but I painted it white to go with the rest of my room.
What do you think? I’ll be honest, I’m super proud and a little bit in love with my room. In an ideal world, I’d have white floor wooden floorboards and a pastel rug which matched but seeing as I’m renting, it’s kinda hard to put in place. It’s always good to have goals though right?
