IÂ don’t think there is a single girl out there who doesn’t want full lips and thick eyelashes. I mean, there probably is but for the sake of this post, let’s pretend not. I was recently contacted by Simon & Tom and asked if I would like to try their Eyelash Growth Enhancing Serum and their Lips Care, which reshapes and defines your lips, and I was like ooh yes please, here is my chance to be Kendall Jenner. Or at least some kind of cartoonified sex goddess.
I’ve never actually tried either an eyelash growth serum or a lip plumper before. I use coconut oil on my eyelashes and brows to help them grow, and I’ve always been happy with that but to be honest it is a little bit of a pain to apply. I stole a little spoolie from Lush (the free ones, obv) and used that for a while but because it was out in the open I think it must have got dirt on and my eye basically swelled up and went bright red. So it’s fair to say I’ve not been caring for my lashes and brows much recently.
The Eyelash Growth Enhancer Serum comes in a little pot, not dissimilar to a liquid eye liner. The applicator is also eye linery, and to apply you just literally apply it to your eyelids where your lashes are. I’ve also been using it on the ends of my brows as my right brow is a little thinner than my left, and growing it out has left it somewhat patchy while the hairs come through. I don’t even remember plucking it any thinner so how that happened, I will never know!
After about two weeks using this, I definitely noticed a really good improvement in my eyebrows. The right one had fully caught up to the left brow! And as I’d been using it less on the left brow, I was genuinely worried that I would have a thicker right eyebrow if I wasn’t careful. The progress with my eyelashes haven’t been as fast, I think because you can’t fully access the follicles, but they have definitely grown very slightly longer and thicker. I noticed a definite big improvement when I wore my Urban Decay Perversion Mascara as a one off, I looked quite false lashey! So I am hopeful that using this regularly will give me beautiful fluttery lashes.
The Lips Care For All Skin Types looks like a lip gloss, which worried me as I am so against lip gloss but luckily when applied, it just looks like a moisturising lip balm. It feels really cooling and refreshing to put on, rather than stinging so that’s a thumbs up from me. According to the site, this reshapes your lips within 15 days, increases hydration by 30% and restores your total lip volume while providing long lasting ‘glamour’. I use this twice a day, every morning and night after brushing my teeth and exfoliating my lips, and I have genuinely found that my lips don’t get anywhere near as dry as they used to. I still use an ordinary lip balm during the day, but just to top up the moisture rather than to repair dry and chapped lips. My lips do look very slightly plumped up, nothing major but enough for me to notice and think I look nicely pouty. I wouldn’t exactly compare it to fillers but for a confidence and pout boost, I’m pretty impressed.
In terms of price, both of these are around £25 each on Amazon (here and here) and but I do think both are really good quality/ actually do what they’re meant to. I would definitely recommend the eyelash serum if you’re trying to grow out your brows or make your eyelashes thicker!
Have you tried anything from Simon & Tom? Or would you? Let me know in the comments!
