I had another title for this post – Isn’Nip Fab, as in ‘ooh isn’t it fabulous!’ It didn’t roll off the tongue as well as I wanted so I decided against using it, but I still feel it’s good enough to tell you all. I am basically quite lame.
I’ve heard about Nip + Fab but never really looked into the brand. Not sure why, as word on the street is all positive, but it never appealed to me. Last month I found myself with three huge cysts all within a one inch space on my cheek, and when they simultaneously left scars I decided I needed something to help. I’d heard about these Clearasil pad things which really helped with scarring but couldn’t find them in Boots, and these Nip + Fab Glycolic Fix Exfoliating Pads on reduce (£8 instead of £12) so I picked them up instead.
According to the pack, these pads will help to unveil younger looking skin. They are soaked in exfoliating glycolic acid which resurfaces the skin, hyaluronic acid which moisturises and refreshes, witch hazel which tones, and blue daisy (whatever that is) which soothes and calms. All of these combined help to brighten and retexturise the skin. Now I know there’s nothing about scarring in this, but I’ve found that ‘brightening’ products are almost always code for ‘helping with scars’ products, as is resurfacing.
I’ve been using these every evening, after removing my makeup and using a toner (also brightening). The last time I used pads, it was Clearasil back when I was 16 and they stung like nothing else. I basically felt like I was searing my skin off, and my 16 year old self though “yes goodbye spots see you in hell”. More pain meant better results, in my eyes. I don’t feel that way anymore so I was a bit nervous about using these, but they are so gentle and soothing I needn’t have worried.
When you cleanse, tone, serum and moisturise, you wouldn’t think an extra step would be necessary but I love using these pads after my toner. It leaves my skin feeling softer and more moisturised, and I feel like it leaves my skin more open for my next step, so that I need less to get the same results.
In terms of scarring, I’ve definitely seen a quicker improvement in reduction in my fresh scars than normal. Whether it’s these alone, or my new toner (Boots Botanic Brightening Toner),I’m really happy I got these and I’ll definitely be repurchasing. It’s made me want to dip my toe further into the Nip + Fab pool of products, but as I said [here] I’m only buying products when I have run empty, so it may be a while before I get around to it!
Have you tried anything from Nip + Fab?
