Like most people in their twenties, I have had a fair view eyebrow styles. Thin with no ends, ridiculously bushy, and now they’re thick without being caterpillar like with as much arch I can get (hint, not a lot).
I’ve also tried various types of eyebrow products. I started off with a pencil but it was too easy to create thick cartoon brows. I then switched to a powder which worked really well for me but I kinda got bored. I kept seeing flawless Insta pics of people’s brows using Anastasia Dip Brow, so I was determined to buy it until I realised I couldn’t get it in town and I was too impatient to wait for an online order. I had a look and MAC Fluidline Brow GelCreme looked pretty similar so I picked it up after work one day.
There are three shades available in this brow cream: Redhead, Dirty Blonde and Deep Dark Brunette. I was also told that the gel eyeliners come in a brown which can easily pass for eyebrow colours.
I got colour matched to Dirty Blonde, which is slightly too warm for my actual brows (they’re basically grey) but a good match for my overall skin tone. Basically, if I use it within my brows it counteracts how cold they are and makes a good overall brow, but I couldn’t use it to draw outside of my brow line without it looking at odds.
Despite the slight colour issue – and it is slight as I don’t ever draw outside of my natural eyebrow anyway, I really love this. It’s a waterproof formula, meaning it genuinely stays on from morning until night, and it creates a bold brow without looking fake or drawn on. The gel consistency also means I don’t need to worry about using a gel or wax to finish my eyebrows as they set once the formula dries.
I’m glad I decided to try a cream brow product instead of buying a new powder. Although powders are easy to throw on, I prefer the look that MAC Fluidline Brow GelCreme gives me: I look a bit sassier and bolder and more like I have my shit together. Bold brows, without being excessively big, frames my face a lot more. With powders, I had to rely on going super dark or layering up the powder to achieve that look, now I can just gently brush through my brows with some product and I’m done. Woo!
What brow products are you lovely lately? Would you try this?
