Halloween is upon us (erm, where is 2015 going??) and everyone’s feeds are overflowing with elaborate makeup tutorials that noone can actually do. I mean, I’m sure some people can but I’m very much a two product girl when it comes to dressing up.
The lovely India (I know, name twins) from River Island got in touch to see if I wanted to try out a Halloween challenge from River Island after seeing my skull tutorial from last year. I’ve been really short on time lately but wanted to get involved, so thought it would be good to see what look you can put together with limited products on a Tuesday evening. This is what happens when you have plans EVERY weekend in the run up to Christmas – no time for shit.
I got sent some cool bits and if I’d had more time I’d have gone for something a bit more inventive, but decided to go for what started out as a water nymph but evolved into some weird dead fairy thing. Hahahah. I guess this is more of a what NOT to do for Halloween, so if you’re looking for some better inspiration Lucy from Dinosaur Dances (here) and Jess from Blonde of Carbs (here) have both put together a better option than me!
Things I learnt today:
– Loose glitter eyeshadow does not blend. No matter how hard you try. But it does cover basically everything so if you make mistakes, you’re cool.
– You can not touch your nose the same day you get your septum pierced, so say goodbye to even coverage.
– Halloween makeup can’t be rushed, especially if you only have a vague idea of what you want to do
– River Island have a really cool selection of beauty products, although a lot aren’t available online! Some of their perfumes look really pretty and would match my pale pink themed bedside table…
– I am shit at makeup tutorials (although last year’s skull tutorial is pretty easy – here)
What are you doing for Halloween this year?
