Whenever my favourite shoes are on the brink of death, I make sure I give them a good send off. My lesbian boots, which served me well throughout college, ended their life in Isle of Wight festival, my brogues last wear was at my end of college foam party, and I said goodbye to my pixie boots after a wild night of dancing in London.

Next up on my farewell shoe train is my Nike air max. Buzz Lightyear inspired colours, these have been my babies for two years. The farewell party for my air max have been coming for a while. Poor dirty, battered things. They’ve been the most comfortable, cool and retro trainers I’ve owned over the past two years, and has worked with almost every outfit I own, all for £30. (Kids section, sports direct.) I am hopefully interrailing this summer, so my send off for them will be somewhere in Europe, where they can finally be laid to rest.
