I have never subscribed to a beauty box because, as much as I do like to play with makeup, I’m just not that bothered by it. You’ve probably noticed this – I’ve very definitely gone from a lifestyle and beauty blog to just a lifestyle blog with the very rare beauty post. Food boxes, on the other hand, are my thing. Although I finally cancelled my Graze box after a few tasty months (which I miss but it’s just too pricey for what it is) I still get a monthly Degustabox and it’s one of my favourite deliveries.
Another subscription box which has joined my love list is Jogg Box*. It’s a monthly subscription box which contains running related products to help you with your running training. Despite it being for running, it would easily pass for anyone who does intense cardio sessions or even just hits the gym regularly and wants to try out new things related to fitness.
Before I go into this month’s box, I need to apologise for how grainy my photos are. I swear the image looks so crisp on camera and then I get on my laptop and it’s blurry ahoy. LAME.
eGlove Sport Touch Screen Running Gloves £24.99
Erm, these are amazing. Every time I ran outside, admittedly not loads, I got so pissed off at having to take my gloves off to use my phone. On Amazon, these come in at £24 so already this box is worth getting. I appreciate the weather is warmer now so gloves may seem odd but bare in mind most runners go before or after work when it’s stilly nippy noodles outside.
100 Active Bodycare Cardio Shower Gel £4.99
I’ve never heard of 100 active Body Care but from the looks of their website, they specialise in shower gels. This one in particular is an energising shower gel to be used after cardio, and it’s active ingredient eucalyptus helps to improve your nasal breathing to improve air quality (aka oxygen) breathed in, delivering more oxygen to your muscles and reducing muscle fatigue. Apparently anyway. I guess it kind of makes sense but I’m not 100% convinced on this, I won’t know until I try it though!
ProperCorn Sweet & Salty £1
This bad boy doesn’t need an introduction! It’s the slightly lesser known light popcorn brand than Metcalfe’s Skinny Popcorn, but equally as delicious.
Nakd Apple Crunch £0.85
Most people know about Nakd bars, but they recently releases a ‘crunch’ range where the bars contain little soya protein crunchy ball things inside. I’ve had other version of the crunch but not this one so I’m excited to give it a try next time I need a healthy, satisfying snack.
Nuun Electrolyte Tables £1
As well as running out of energy on long runs, you can run low on electrolytes. If you’ve ever got the chills after a long session, that’s what your low on. After the half marathon we had the car heat up so high that the windows steamed up, but me Jo and Grace all sat shivering in the back waiting for our food to kick in. These tablets are awesome, you pop them in your water and it dissolves, making it an electrolyte filled drink, without the calories or sugar woo!
SiS Go Gel Isotonic Energy £1
I’ve actually tried one of these before when I was marathon training. If you’ve never done long distance running, a sports gel is used to provide the body with energy after the glycogen stores have been used up – normally for runs longer than an hour. I actually really dislike gels, they’re like a very concentrated Lucozade and I can’t get over the texture (think slimy) but two of my friends used them in the half marathon and they do work, I’m just clearly a sports fuel snob.
The value of the box is just under £35 which, for £18 including delivery is pretty good. I like that you get to try bits and bobs; fitness foods and what not are really expensive and can be such a waste of money if you don’t like them, especially as you have to order online if you don’t live near a specialist running shop.
Would you pick up something like this?
