Clinique 3 Step / Skin Type 3

Clinique was probably my first taste of a high end product ever, so it will always have a special place for it in my heart. I used to sneak into my step mums bathroom to use her three step care products!

My dad got me (aka I sent him the link and he paid) for this little three step set for combination skin. It consists of a gel wash cleaner, a clarifying toner and a moisturising gel. I think most people will at least recognise the moisturiser, the whole yellow formula thing has been around for years.

1. The cleanser. For some reason, it really annoys me that it doesn’t have a number 1 on the bottle. I’m very blasé about this, it’s okay as a face wash but I don’t find my skin feels crazy clean or anything. It kind of leaves my skin feeling a bit tight afterwards, but the rest of the steps help sort this.

2. The clarifying lotion. This smells incredibly chemical and clinic like. It does really leave your skin feeling clean and free of any dirt though, and I’ve not found any problems with it leaving my skin feeling damaged or stripped in anyway.

3. The moisturising gel. Undoubtedly my favourite of the lot, I use this most days whereas the others I use occasionally. The gel just sinks into your skin like a dream, and it completely gets rid of any dry patches or tightness your skin might have. It also doesn’t cause shiny skin, but leaves it beautifully moisturised for the day and makeup ahead of you.

For £20, I think this is a really good little set if you want to try the products. They last a good amount of time, and the products do work together quite well. The only thing I would consider purchasing the full size is the moisturising gel, it is one of the nicest moisturisers I have and I just love how it feels on my skin.

You can get the 3 step gift sets from Boots. There is four different skin types I believe. I’ve also tried the Anti Blemish Solutions 3 step system if you want to read my review of that *shameless*

What are your do’s and don’ts products from Clinique?
