Poundland have started to do a ‘famous’ brand section in their beauty section. Most of it is tat, as per Poundland standard, but I picked up a couple of cheap beauty products while I was browsing for chocolate the other day.
The first thing I found was this Revlon Colour Stay compact in Very Deep. I’m pretty sure this is meant as an all over face powder, but seeing as I am not orangey brown skinned, that is not why I got it. I’m on the search for a matte bronzer contour type thing and thought, for a £1, this would be quite good to try. I have absolutely no idea who wold use this as a powder, but it even has a little powder puff thing with it. Maybe ideal for the cast of TOWIE? Who knows. I was scared it would be too orange but if you use it lightly, it does make a nice brown powder for contouring.
The next Poundland bargain I got was this w7 nail varnish in salt and pepper. W7 is not, in any means, an expensive brand so I think Poundland were being a bit cheeky when they labelled it as famous brands. I do really like nail varnish with dots in, especially seeing as this is black specks rather than the standard glitter. I have yet to use it but I’m sure I’ll be getting value for my money! I wasn’t really impressed by the other ‘famous brands’ options, there were some Calvin Klein eye shadows, and some Revlon nail varnish and a mascara in a brand I don’t really know of. This was only a tiny Poundland though so I would suggest having a rummage next time you’re in one
