You Spent How Much On A Hair Band?!

I’ve got to admit, spending £3.75 on three bobbles is not something I take lightly. Mainly because I normally spend £2 on a pack of a billion, only to end up with none in a matter of weeks. I’ve seen Invisibobble around for quite a while, and while I was intrigued by the claims (no kinks or headaches from pony tails, of which I get both) I just didn’t think it was worth buying. I’ve recently started gymming in my lunch hour, meaning that my hair is up for about 40 minutes. Now I have hair that kinks after five minutes of being up, so I decided that drastic measures had to be taken. You know, in the form of these bobbles…

Invisibobble review

There are a few colour choices for the Invisibobble, ranging from INVISIBLE like mine, to dark brown and black, to bright blue. I don’t understand why anyone wouldn’t go for either invisible, or close to their hair colour but I’m pro choice so if you like bright blue, you go for it. It’s basically an old school telephone cord, as a hair band. It’s super stretchy, and I need to wrap it around my hair four times to keep it securely in place (as opposed to three times for the traditional black bands).

The way it works is rather than constricting one solid line of hair, each curl holds a tiny bit in place and overall it keeps your hair up, without any overriding kinks. It also allows the grip to not be so tight, hence the reduced chance of headaches I’ve not noticed any kink issues after wearing my Invisibobble at the gym, or when I’m lounging at home, but I can’t say I’ve tried it for over an hour or two at a time to know whether it prevents headaches.

I do think the Invisibobble is innovative, but I don’t know whether it is exactly a life changing product. If you get kinks and headaches from hair bands, go ahead and get yourself a trio. At £3.75, it won’t bankrupt you, and you might even take better care of it knowing that it’s the most expensive bobble you’ll ever buy.

Have you tried Invisibobble?
