Hello beauties! I posted on the 28th August to say that I was going on a spending ban for a month (read it here) and I thought I’d update you with how it’s going as I’m halfway through! I hadn’t been struggling up until the 11th, when I had some insane urges to buy clothes and whatever I could get my hands on but thankfully I work out of town so avoiding shops was easy, and I managed to somehow steer clear of online shopping too! I have had to buy lunch a couple of times, as I was so pooped I forgot to make some the night before, and I’ve also spent around a fiver on non-essential food as I had friends over for scary films, which would obviously be incomplete without nachos and chocolate! Sorry diet. Oh, I also bought my sister the Benefit They’re Real Eyeliner as it was on Cohorted for £14 something and I know she wanted it.
Of course, there have been things I have read on blogs that have made me go, oooh I want this, and I’ve also ran out of a few products while being on a spending ban (typical) so I decided to make a wish list of things that I would buy if I a) wasn’t on a spending ban and b) had money to spend in the first place.
1. I’ve just ran out of my Maybelline Dream Pure BB cream, which is really annoying because it’s a perfect colour match for my in between summer and winter skin. Although I didn’t notice my skin improve while I used it, I prefer BB creams to foundations on a daily basis as I feel like I’m clogging my skin up otherwise.
2. I’ve been looking for a new powder as mine is about 800 years old and the case is smashed and held together with masking tape. I saw someone review GOSH Mineral Powder, and said it has enough coverage to work as a foundation and I just thought it was quite interesting. I’ve only used a few GOSH products but I’ve always liked them.
3. As someone who is scared of wearing lipsticks, I really want to get a decent nude lip and try and incorporate lipsticks into my life. I like the look of MAC Kinda Sexy on all the reviews I’ve seen, and I feel like it would suit my skin a lot more than more nudey nudes.
4. My Biotherm Exfoliating Toner has nearly run out and while I like it, I don’t think I’ll be repurchasing. I’ve heard loads about The Body Shop Tea Tree Toner, and I’ve had such good results with the Blemish Fade Night Lotion from this range so I really want to try this next.
5. I find cleaning makeup brushes such a chore, so I’m hopeful that getting a brush cleanser will make it a bit easier and quicker. The Makeup Revolution Pro Hygiene Antibacterial Brush Cleaner has had a few good reviews, and is cheap enough that I wouldn’t mind paying for it.
6. My hair is overdue a trim, and as such it has lost a lot of volume from being weighed down. Obviously the best thing would be to do is to get a trim, but I really want the Bumble and Bumble Thickening Spray just to give it a bit more life and zaz.
7. I’ve been really tempted by Soap and Glory’s Brow Archery. I’ve seen so many rave reviews on it that I just think it must be good. I’ve already for a brow pencil, powder and Benefit’s Gimme Brow so this isn’t high on my priorities right now.
8. I really struggle to get a decent brow using powder with the brush that comes in my GOSH Brow Kit, so I’m toying with the idea of getting a MAC 208 Brow Brush or similar. I just feel it would make my life a lot easier in the mornings.
Obviously I won’t be splashing out on all of these as soon as I’m off my spending ban, as it kinda defeats the point of doing one in the first place! I think I’ll choose maybe one or two to treat myself, and then try and limit my spending again in October. On the plus side (for my bank, anyway) me and my boyfriend have come up with loads of cute homemade Christmas present ideas we’re going to do for our family Christmas presents! I’ll update you with that nearer the time though!
What is on your Wishlist?
I think I need to do a spending ban as well. It’s been one of those months where you’ve spent so so so much!
But first I’ll need to buy my microwave. hehe I’ve been without one for a week now as the last one broke, and it’s taking it’s tull! :p

Microwaves are definitely more important than spending bans! Some days you just need to use a microwave, especially looong days like today!
