Today I want to show you my two favourite rings. I’m not actually a huge jewellery wearer- I’d love to be, but I can never be bothered to sift through my jewellery, or I get uncomfortable wearing it or I just plain lose it! So I stick to my leather strapped Olivia Burton watch, my elephant ring, and my recent new edition, a tiny silver Jana Reinhardt ring.
I got my elephant ring when I volunteered in India for a month. I saw it in a little trinket shop and just died. It was 800 rupees (about £8) but I’d been so used to market prices for jewellery, I was shocked at seeing anything over 150 rupees! The man assured me it was silver, and I believe him as it has a little Indian hall mark, plus in the nine months or wearing it constant, there has been no discolouration either of the ring OR my finger! I bartered him down to 600 rupees. I say bartered, I basically begged as I didn’t have any more cash on me! Luckily he gave in as I think I would be gutted without it in my life.
Having such a beautiful ring has seriously upped my expectations of rings, so that no high street faux silver ring has been allowed to sit next to my elephant one. I’ve had my eye on the Jana Reindhart hummingbird ring for a while, but when I saw this one off double flower ring for sale (I say one off, it was a mock up for their next collection so obviously there will eventually be some similar!) for only £49, I decided to buy it. You get 15% off your first purchase if you sign up for the newsletter (which is actually how I came to learn about this ring haha) so it wasn’t even that expensive. If I wasn’t a student, anyway!
Anyway, it arrived like next day and I just love it! Especially next to my elephant ring, as one is chunky and roughly made, and the other is a tiny delicate little flower! I eventually want to build up my collection of nice rings, I’d love a stunning silver midi ring next so if you see any that are above high street but not ridiculously expensive, let me know!
