I hate the term smart casual. Could there be more of an oxymoron? I recently started a new job with smart casual dress code. Obviously I had to turn up for my first day way too smart, just in case. I’ve pretty much nailed it on the head now though; it’s all down to duster jackets. They are the epitome of smart casual, they look just as great with skinny jeans and Nikes as they do with a bodycon and heels, and they smarten up every outfit without being too stuffy and formal. I am officially in love with them. At work, I pair them with my black skinny jeans, a shirt and Chelsea boots, and at the weekend I wear a slightly more chilled out attire.

Pretty much my whole outfit in these photos is Topshop. In fact, literally everything but the trainers are. I went a bit crazy in there on payday, and I don’t regret it in the slightest – especially as this top and duster coat are no longer in stock! I actually bought way too much stuff this month, I have no money left. At all. New Years Resolution – stop spending money, period.
