Well, dramatic title or what? I think it’s safe to say that I was not the only person this month who opened their Degustabox, saw the chocolates and thought “uh oh, bye Lent”. I really really love Degustabox but getting a box full of food literally delivered to your door is pretty dangerous if your eyes are bigger than your mouth.
I didn’t get to try January’s box as it sold out, which just shows how well they’re doing! This month’s Degustabox had lots of snacky things to try, with a mix of popular and lesser known brands.
Original Melba Thins
There’s not a whole lot to say about Melba thins, they’re good for low calorie snacks if you add some healthy toppings like mashed avocado, cottage cheese and so on. This has 10 little packs which makes it really handy for taking to work, no crumbies!
Beet It Pro-Elite Sports Bar
I love this! I mean, I’ve not actually tried it yet but it’s so wacky it’s awesome and I know I’ll love it. Beetroot is packed full of vitamins, but has also been linked to helping with blood pressure, helping to maximise the amount of oxygen your blood carries, and helping to absorb nutrients from food. So basically, this is a lot better for you than your average sports bar!
American Muffin Co. Gluten and Wheat Free Mini Chocolate Chip Muffins
One word – delicious. More moist and delicious than any packaged muffins I’ve tried with gluten and wheat, I swear to you. I took them around to my friends for a healthy girls night (obviously these ARE healthy…) and everyone wanted more. The fact they were individually wrapped did not stop us eating all six between three of us.
Whole Earth 3 Nut Butter
Whole Earth is my favourite brand of peanut butter ever, it has no added sugar and tastes so much nicer than the cheaper ones. I’ve tried almond butter but a combination of hazelnut, cashews and peanuts? Yum yum. The only issue with this is how fast I’ll eat it.
Lily O’Brien’s Cocoa Cookie Crunch
Apparently a share bag, but I ate these to myself as they were so delicious. Like ridiculously delicious. Buy them, now.
Schwartz Flavour Shots
I’ve used flavour shots before and they’re so easy to use, without skimping on flavour. I got Indian Mild Masala Curry and Spanish Paella. I love paella but it’s a pain to make from scratch (it might not be, I can’t say I’ve tried) so I’m definitely looking forward to trying it.
Jack Links Beef Jerky
I don’t eat meat so I’ve given this to Scott, who is a bit unsure about the whole beef jerky thing. It’s very American! But if a whole nation love them, I can’t see why it wouldn’t catch on here.
Laimon Fresh Sparking Lemon, Lime and Mint Drink
I always find it a bit bizarre it’s so hard to get hold of lemonade in a normal drink sized. There’s Lilt or Sprite or whatever, but that’s it. I’m not a fizzy drink fan but Scott liked this.
Peanut Hottie (which I totes forgot to photograph so will be soon!)
I was actually sent this ages ago, it’s the peanut butter version of hot chocolate. It tastes like the peanut butter in a peanut butter KitKat and I’m not a huge fan of it in drinks but add this to your banana bread, cookies, pancakes, cakes, porridge… Anything that would go with peanut butter, will work with this.
If you fancy getting a surprise food box delivered to your home every month (and for only £13) you can sign up here. Degustabox are also giving away one month’s box on their facebook if you fancy trying your luck!
