I’ve been so organised this year with Christmas. By the 2nd December, I had every single present in my kitchen, and 90% of them wrapped. Not sure how it happened as I’m usually awful. I figured there are probably some people who haven’t been so organised so I thought I’d put together one big guide for those who are still unsure of what to get that special lady in your life (cough – boyfriends, I’m looking at you).
Under £100
GHD Limited Edition V Wonderland Styler / Fujifilm Instax Mini 8 Polaroid Camera / Magnitone Lucid* / Olivia Burton Watch
£100 is a lot to spend on one thing for yourself, but that doesn’t stop you from actually wanting it. That’s why big gifts make such perfect presents; it’s the treat you could never buy yourself! I’m pretty sure all of these have been on every girls wish list as some point; who doesn’t want perfect hair and skin, a pretty watch and a camera to capture them on?
Under £50
River Island Grey Fur Body Bag / Purple Backpack / Urban Decay Naked 3 / Ciate Candy Cane House
£50 gifts are quite good when you’re not sure what someone wants, but still want to get a present that says “you’re fab”. Clothing can be a bit funny; the wrong choice can make a girl feel frumpy or fat, so it’s best to stick with accessories and beauty products! If you’re a guy, you probably don’t know what your girlfriends interests are so sticking with classic favourites are probably best.
Under £20
Sleep In Rollers / Seventeen Ready Steady Glow / Macadamia Holiday Repair Gift Set* / Moon Child Bangle / Crabtree and Evelyn Hand Therapy Trio / Grey Tartan Scarf
£20 might not seem like a lot, but actually it is enough to get a really nice gift set or something specific you know they’ll like. Hair sets are perfect for anyone longing for perfect hair, and I don’t think you can actually go wrong with hand cream in winter, especially for mum’s and the older ladies. And me, I love hand creams. Chocolate is a bit cliche, so go for brands that allow personalisation – it shows you’ve actually put thought in.
Under £10
Floral Hipflask / Touchscreen Gloves / Emoji Cushions / Cup Cake Lip Balms / Peace Hand Ring Holder / Personalised Chocolates*
£10 gifts tend to be Secret Santa’s or stocking fillers, but that doesn’t mean it has to be tat or stuff that is going to just gather dust under the bed. The key is to finding something you know they like (for example in this case, drinking, texting, cupcakes, jewellery) and finding a quirky gift that relates.
Of course, if you’re really struggling for ideas the best place to ask for advice is their best friend; they’re bound to have something funny, useful or sentimental that you can get!
What would you like to see under the tree this year? And how do you drop hints to your family? It’s always quite awkward asking outright, but even more awkward if you open a present and it’s something you would never use/ wear in a million years!
