If you ever came to my parents house, you’d be amazed by how much stuff we have. Not only is there like, 28 wooden spoons or something (seriously though, it’s become a running joke now), but there is a host of cute little angels and hearts and animals and even fairy tale inspired clocks. My step mum is definitely some form of hoarder! I’ve obviously picked up the habit though, I love cute little decorations and home ware and I can spend hours in shabby chic home ware shops deciding what to buy before Scott drags me away because I don’t need any of it.
The Other Duckling is basically an online version of these shops. I was kindly offered to pick a few things, and it took me about an hour of browsing before I had narrowed it down as I actually wanted everything. In the end I went for this cute ‘Enjoy the little things’ tin*, which I’ll be keeping my kirby grips in (before they all vanish mysteriously), this handmade bird* made from recycled metals, and this cute little heart hanging decoration*. Aside from the products themselves, the cute packaging and the delivery service (hello, one hour time slot!) really impressed me.
They have a lot of variety on the site, so anyone who loves cute candle holders, cushions, little vintage tins, pretty glass bottles, along with basically anything cute that can be classed as home décor, will love it. I definitely think it would be a good place for Christmas presents! Most of the products are really affordable too.
I’m trying to keep my possessions to a minimum right now as my flat is teeny tiny and pretty ugly, but next year we want to get a more modern and spacious flat so I’ll probably go a little bit crazy collecting things to put around the house, and The Other Duckling will be first on my virtual list.
Where do you go for home ware and decorations?
