Got 2 b – Glorified Talc?

When I was 16, someone told me that you could use talcum powder to add volume to your hair. Just sprinkle a bit on, ruffle your hair up and spritz with hair spray and voila, big hair. So when I spotted Schwarzkopf got2b POWDER’ful voluminizing styling powder a while later, I was all “MATE I GOT MY OWN VOLUME POWDER”. Except not really like that, but you catch my drift. I had no intention of ever really trying it, but my friend left hers after coming down for Halloween so I thought I would test it out before giving it her back. Obviously.

To use the styling powder, you shake some on your hands, rub it in (which turns it invisible, and also releases a huge cloud of dust!) and then rub your hands through your roots. When you rub the powder in your palms, it turns really gritty and almost sticky, which must transfer to your hair and give it the volume. Which it does – after using this on second day hair, a couple of sprinkles of this really helped to give my roots some oomph, and stop it from sticking to my head like a flat pancake.

It’s definitely different to talcum powder; for one thing, it turns see through which talc doesn’t, so it means you don’t have to worry about grey roots which is good. It also gives extra volume, which I’m putting down to the sticky nature of the styling powder. You do get a similar effect if you use talcum powder and hair spray together, but the got2b is definitely a lot more convenient!

At only £3 from Boots&lt, I do think this is a really good purchase if you have quite flat or limp hair. The small bottle makes it the perfect handbag accessory, meaning you can really big up your hair out and about. You only need a little bit each time, so it should last you ages!
