Beauty Favourites #2

I can’t believe it’s November already. I remember when it was November in 2012, and I didn’t want it to turn to 2013 as I’d had such an amazing year. I’ve decided 2015 is going to be an amazing year for me. 2014 was a bit of a tough cookie; third year at university, graduating, job hunting, and just some rough and tumble times in general. But it’s ending well; I’ve just started my official first graduate job, I’m starting to really be happy with my blog, I’m feeling motivated at life.

Favourite beauty post

Today’s post is my second ever beauty favourites. I don’t wear makeup on a daily basis, so it’s not often I fall in love with something, and I’ve been pretty skint and not buying too many new things. I have found a few gems though, so here they are!

Urban Decay Naked Basics 2

I’m not really an eyeshadow person but this palette was in my favourites from first use. The colours are gorgeous, cool tones and taupe shades that are so easy to wear for both natural and dramatic looks. The pigmentation is good and the shadows are easy to work with and blend. There’s only one shimmery shade, which is perfect for me as I’m a matte girl through and through.

Maybelline Colour Drama Lip Crayon in nude perfection

These little lip crayons are amazing. The pigmentation is great, the wear time is good and the matte finish isn’t at all drying. Nude perfection is my go to colour (over my Collection lip liner in espresso – perfect nude lip!) but I also have pink minimalist and berry.

Natural  Collection lip liner in Espresso

I found this in my old makeup box and decided to try it out. On it’s own, it is a warm brown which makes me look a bit like I’m channelling Charmed or Sabrina the Teenage Witch, but paired with nude perfection it gives the perfect nude. I’ve never used a lip liner before but I love how easy it is to fill in and full out my lips.

Beauty sponges

I was thinking about getting some of these when Scott surprised me and gave me some, without me even telling him about them! They’re only cheap from eBay, but they do really help blending foundation look flawless. I found when I was using just a brush it could sometimes look cakey, but now I use a damp sponge to apply foundation and then buff with a brush and I’m left with flawless skin.

Urban Decay Perversion Mascara

This is, without a doubt, the best mascara I have ever tried. It gives such long, thick lashes that stay all day without flaking or smudging. I’d normally say I wouldn’t pay £17 for a mascara, due to my skint student mentality, but I will definitely repurchase this when it’s gone. I have a full review here.

Urban Decay All Nighter Setting Spray

So basically, I love Urban Decay it seems. I didn’t used to get on with the all nighter setting spray, but I’ve found that if I apply it after a dusting of Rimmel Stay Matte powder, my makeup lasts all day without moving a millimetre. Even when I go to the gym in my lunch time. If that’s not wizardry, I don’t know what is.

Non beauty wise, I have been loving American Horror Story, starting my new job, having the heating on and knitted jumpers.
