Conceal (DON’T FEEEEEEL)

It’s no secret here that I have a nice array of acne scars and dark circles under my eyes, so you’d think I would be falling head over heels trying to get my hands on concealers but I’ve had my fair share and they never seem to work for me. Whether it’s not enough coverage, not the right colour, or not the right consistency, concealers and me seem incompatible, which is why I found myself for about three months concealerless.

I eventually decided to give the Collection 2000 concealer a go after hearing rave reviews on Twitter but as luck would have it, it was out of stock so I picked up L’Oreal True Match instead.

L'Oreal Paris True Match Concealer Review

Best concealer for dark under eyes

I picked up the shade vanilla, which is very slightly lighter than my skin tone, as I’ve heard that using a slightly lighter shade helps to brighten up the complexion as well as conceal. It’s a slightly yellowy tone which works really well to cover any spots and scarring, and the consistency is lovely and creamy and blends in perfectly: you’d never know it was slightly lighter than my skin tone, and you never get that cakey look.

I would say that it’s a medium coverage: it does a decent job of minimising my dark under eyes and my scars and making my overall complexion brighter, but it doesn’t get rid of them completely. With powder and a setting spray, this lasts all day and has taken me through from 8am to 12pm fine. It can crease slightly when you apply it in your wrinkley eye bags, but once this is blended in it just stays.

I’ve had the concealer about two months and it is only just running low, and I have been genuinely happy with it the whole time. I would 100% repurchase, except I want to try the Collection 2000 one first before I fully commit. I think if you’re looking for a medium coverage concealer with a creamy coverage and good blendability, this is definitely a concealer to try. The only thing is there is only 5 shades, which isn’t ideal! You can get L’Oreal True Match Concealer here at £6.99 for 5ml.

Have you tried this? What concealer would you recommend?
