Oh My GOSH

When I think of product testing, I think of spammy sponsored Facebook ads and endless surveys. I don’t associate it with actually getting to try out a product. Nether the less, when Product Testing UK tweeted asking for bloggers, I gave a cheeky tweet back. I am, if anything, a cheeky tweeter. Anyway, I forgot all about it until I got an email saying I had a product on it’s way, and then a few days later GOSH Foundation Brush Duo Hypoallergenic* showed up.

I’ve had a long journey for how I apply my foundation. At first, it was my hands. Then those cheap multipacks of sponges. Then a cheap brush, moving on to Real Techniques buffering brush, before finally settling to applying with a beauty blender and setting with my Real Techniques buffering brush, so I was a bit reluctant to try the GOSH brush in case it didn’t work as well as my normal routine. I settled for trying it on a weekend when I wasn’t in my usual 10 minute rush to get ready.

I really am not a fan of using a brush to apply foundation alone; I feel like the brush just absorbs all of the foundation and pushes it around my face, so I used this instead of my Real Techniques brush after applying my foundation with a beauty sponge. The bristles are so soft, softer than my Real Techniques brush, but not so soft that it has trouble buffing in excess foundation, and the shape is perfect for getting in the crevices around my nose and eyes. The brush is synthetic, which I’m assuming is why it’s hypoallergenic, which makes it more hygienic than non synthetic brushes and, like all of GOSH products, is cruelty free.

I do actually really like this brush, which surprised me a bit if I’m honest! I don’t think it would be very good for applying foundation straight from the bottle, just because the bristles are so soft I can’t see it blending the foundation very well on its own. If you just use a foundation brush to perfect your foundation after applying it with a sponge (you very niche target!) it’s a good pick.

You can register to become a product tester here, and buy the GOSH Foundation Duo brush here for £9.99.

How do you apply your foundation? And have you ever been a product tester?
