Sample Sunday #18

I am getting so unorganised with my Sample Sunday’s lately, there just aren’t enough hours in the week I swear! Plus I am seriously lazy so after work I tend to go to the gym, shower, mong out and maybe do some comments. I write quite a lot for work, so writing at home can be a bit tiring. I need to work out a routine I guess!

Elemis Tri-Enzyme Resurfacing Night Cream

I decided to try out my sample of Elemis Tri-Enzyme Resurfacing Night Cream, as I am coming to the end of a breakout and wanted my skin to just piss off a little bit, so a resurfacing cream sounded fab. The cream is supposed to stimulate the skins natural cell cycle, leaving you with smoother, more moisturised skin and fewer wrinkles. It won the Cosmopolitan Beauty Awards in 2007, so should be good eh? Sadly, I didn’t exactly have enough sample to see whether this night cream was award winning, but I’ll tell you about it anyway!

The consistency is kind of between a serum and moisturiser, except it was rich enough for me to not need a moisturiser afterwards, and the smell kind of reminded me of conditioner. A little bit goes a long way, so I was going to use it two nights in a row but Scott binned it whilst cleaning. Who would think a half used sample was rubbish, eh? Some night creams can be too heavy for me, but this was the perfect consistency and delivered a great amount of hydration. Whether or not it sped up my skin cell renewal, I’ll never know, but as far as moisturising night creams went, it delivered.

I always leave googling the price of samples until after I’ve tried them, so I’m not influenced by it when I review. This often leaves me frequently gobsmacked by how expensive some products are – this night cream is £85 in most retailers! Although you can get this for £67.25 (!) from Amazon. I don’t know how a sample is meant to convert you into parting with that much cash, but I guess some people have more sense and trust in reviews than money 😉 I wish I did.
