Another Charity Bargain Coat

When I was a kid, I used to love charity shopping as it meant new toys for me. Mostly of the beanie baby variety. Then when I was 11ish I was mortified at the thought, as if second hand clothes were any worse than the pink jeans I had that made me look exactly like a pig with flared ankles. Painful. Nowadays, I love them but I don’t visit them nearly as often as I should. I just forget, and sometimes I can’t be bothered with the hassle of routing through the rubbish. I avoid sale rails for that exact same reason.

Luckily for me, I popped into BHF on my lunch to get some books to read, and on my way out I spotted a flash of bright orange. On closer inspection, it was a bright orange wool Topshop coat. In near mint condition. In my size. I literally ran back to the counter and sheepishly handed over more money, as if the back of my door isn’t already over flowing with coats. I checked on eBay when I got back and the new versions of these are going for £90, I got mine for £9. I hope you’re nodding approvingly, possibly even clapping as you read this. I saved 90%!

Anyway, I thought I’d do a rare outfit post. I would love to do more but the only time I get to take photos is at the weekend, and unless you want to see me in my PJs sans makeup, there’s not much to take pictures of normally. This weekend, me and Scott went to The Handmade Burger Co as they have some pretty impressive veggie burgers (I got goats cheese with grilled peppers and caramelised onions with extra avocado) and then we went to Love My Coffee for a coffee (duh) and a giant sticky toffee muffin each. I also got some super cute homeware, including a life size rose gold pineapple for a staggering £18, and then spent the evening looking at IKEA hacks so that we can do cute house things in our next house that doesn’t cost a lot. So excited.

Coat- Charity Shop / Jeans – Topshop / Shirt – River Island / Shoes – Monki

This is like my favourite shirt at the minute, it’s so oversized and although the front is typical shirt material, the back is a soft fabric so it’s ridiculously cosy. It’s quite 90s, so I paired it with a choker and shoved my hair up as it was very untameable. I’m so bad at top knots, I basically use 100 Kirby grips to keep it in place.

What have you all been up to lately?
