Burt’s Bees Head to Toe Kit
Burt’s Bees is a beauty brand that uses natural, sustainable resources and is eco friendly and all that. None of their products have sulfates, parabens, phtalates or petrochemicals in, so it’s good for those conscious beauty girls out there. I’ve not used their products before this, but I got given their Head to Toe Kit for Christmas and was pretty excited about trying them out as I’ve heard all good!
Beeswax lip balm with Vitamin E & peppermint
The beeswax lip balm comes in your standard lip balm tube with the twisty bottom. The lip balm itself is a nice firmess: hard enough that it isn’t sloppy putting it on, but soft enough you don’t need to drag it across your lips. It smells gorgeous- like After Eights! It does fade, so if you’re not a huge fan of scented lip balms it should still be okay for you. The vitamin E means it instantly feels soothing on chapped lips, and the peppermint gives you that invigorating, menthol tingling. I personally love this lip balm, it feels a lot more nourishing than some of your average drug store balms. It also lasts for a good hour before you need to reapply!
Hand Salve
The hand salve is for hands and other dry areas that need nourishing. It’s a firm, solid waxy texture that melts on to your finger when you go to use it. It is really rich and nourishing, and it smells gorgeous, the main thing I can pick out is rosemary. Although it is in a tiny tin, you’d only really use it on seriously distressed skin as it’s so heavy and rich. I personally use it as ointment for my cuticles, as I find they get dry even when I use handcream. It’s a convenient size, so if you tend to get really dry patches of skin it would be good to take out and keep on top of.
Naturally nourishing body lotion with milk and honey
This smells amazing, like a desert. It’s a good moisturiser- I trialled it out on my knee and it moisturised that really well! The only downside is the bottle is really small, so you wouldn’t get a lot of use out of it as a full body moisturiser. It would work really well if you like to top up moisturiser on your arms and legs while you’re out though.
Fabulously fresh body wash with peppermint and rosemary
Like everything else, this smells gorgeous. It’s a deeper peppermint than the lip balm, not sure if that is because of the rosemary or not. I’ve not yet used this so I don’t know how well it lathers, but the scent is definitely perfect for a shower pick me up!
Coconut foot cream
I love coconut oil as a beauty product so was happy to see coconut featuring in this foot cream. It smells coconutty and bonaticall-ly, and has peppermint in as well as coconut oil, both which would help your feet smell fresh thanks to the anti-fungal and bacterial properties. The cream itself is a yellow, gel type texture, which sort of melts into an oily feel as you rub it in. It’s almost instantly absorbed though, and even from one use the heel of my foot looks more soft and hydrated! You only need a small amount, and it absorbs into your hands as you rub it in as well, meaning you’re not left with greasy hands. I’m actually really impressed with this foot cream, I reckon if you used a pumice and this together, you’d have sandal ready feet in no time.
Deep cleansing cream with soap bark and chamomile
I didn’t think this had a smell when I was squeezing it out of the tube but actually, it smells like love heart and refresher sweets! The cream is rich and thick, but absorbs into your skin easily. It got rid of all my skin makeup fine, and left my skin feeling incredibly moisturised. I can’t get over how nice the smell is either! The only downside is you have to avoid the eye area, so you would need a separate eye makeup remover.
Overall, I’m really impressed with this head to toe kit. All of the products smell gorgeous and work really well- every part of me is left feeling deeply nourished and hydrated. The bottles are only little, so I’d suggest getting this if you have never tried Burt’s Bees and want to see what the products are like, or as a present for someone who likes free from beauty products. I will definitely be buying the lip balm again, and possibly the deep cleansing cream as it smells gorgeous and is really nourishing.
