Garnier Micellar Cleansing Water / Review From A Cynic
No doubt you’ve seen a million and one reviews on Garnier micellar cleansing water. I’ve seen them, but never bothered reading them. Water? As a makeup remover? Ha, yeah right. The word micellar did get my ears pricked up a bit, because it sounds vaguely biological and legit, but other than that I sacked off this product for ages.
Then one day, dangerously close to payday, I felt the irresistable urge to burn a hole in my pocket and picked it up while I was in Superdrug. It was £4.99 but I know you can get it in Savers for £2.99!
To look at, you would genuinely think you’ve bought a genuine bottle of water and have basically been ripped off. Although it does go a bit foamy if you shake it. The bottle supposedly has 200 servings, but then a small cake is meant to have 10 servings so I doubt it will last 200 makeup removals! It works by capturing and lifting away dirt and makeup, and is a one step makeup remover. So no need to go wash your face afterwards, although if you are a blogger I know you probably will!
So I dubiously soaked a cotton pad with this and wiped my skin, and I was actually shocked by how much makeup came off! Within a few wipes, the pad was just completely skin coloured, with patches of eyebrow colour dotted around. It took two pads but my makeup was genuinely all taken off. It even tackles mascara perfectly. Better than my Rituals eye makeup remover!
I have to admit, Garnier micellar cleansig water has turned me from a cynic into a fan. I do wash my face afterwards, rather than use it as my only makeup removal method, but that’s personal preference as my skin just feels weird without being washed.
