Sometimes I feel like the beauty industry makes random products that don’t really do anything, just to take our money. That’s what I thought would be the case with Caudalie Beauty Elixir. I got it as a gift, but I’m not even really sure what a beauty elixir is! It sounds like a vague description used to disguise the fact it’s not really a real product. It does say it gives a glowing complexion though.
This beauty elixir thing is meant to be sprayed on the face before moisturising. It sprays in a fine mist and is super cooling on the skin. It has a really strong botanical smell, kind of a eucalyptus and herb mix. It’s nice if you’re into natural herby smells.
I thought this would be a dud to be honest. I kind of feel if something isn’t a serum or an oil it won’t do much, if anything, but I’ve been really surprised. Spraying this on the skin not only refreshes your skin, it really helps stop that tight feeling your skin gets when it’s just been washed, and I think it works really well under a moisturiser to kind of boost the vitamins or whatever your skin gets.
I actually really like this product. I find a serum is too heavy for me to use on a daily basis, whereas this is a quick and easy step before moisturising. I love how refreshing it is after a shower, and it’s so easy to use when I’m feeling lazy! I’ve noticed my skin looks a lot brighter when I use it than when I don’t as well, which is nice! It is also against animal testing and 100% natural so any cruelty free girls out there can use it safely which is nice.
I really like this elixir, but at £32 I just don’t know if it is something I will be buying for myself. I’d love to have it indefinitely, it’s completely grown on me! I just really don’t think I can justify spending that much on something that isn’t even really a necessary part of my skin routine. I’m undecided though – luckily it lasts a long time so I’ve got a while to decide.
What are your favourite products for refreshing your skin? Any that aren’t so expensive maybe?
