Sample Sunday #21

Hello lovelies! Can you believe it’s only four days until Christmas? Crazy. It’s been a good week for me, I went out with work for our Christmas party so got to know everyone a bit better which was nice! And then Saturday (which as usual, is the day that I’m writing this post) I ran 8km in 52 minutes. Not the best pace but seeing as the most I’ve run in the past four years is 5km, so I’m pretty happy with it! Come at me half marathon. I also painted my nails for the first time in forever, hopefully they last until Christmas but I doubt it.

Green People skin care

Today’s sample is from Green People, and is their Hydrating Firming Serum*. I got sent a few samples from them when I trialled out their shampoo and conditioner (see my review here!). All of Green People’s products are a) not tested on animals b) free from sulphates, parabens, and alcohol plus a bunch of other stuff your body doesn’t want.

To be honest, I actually basically neglect my skin when it comes to ingredients, I have the least sensitive skin ever so I just use what I want, when I want. I’ve been a lot better in the past six months or so, but I do think maybe I should be as concerned with the products I use on my skin as I am with the ones I use on my hair!

The serum uses 96% organic ingredients, including chamomile, seaweed and rose geranium, and is both anti-aging and hydrating. It’s a lot thinner than the serums I normally use, and smells very slightly herby. The thin consistency means that you only need a tiny bit to cover your face. It certainly absorbs really well, but once it had dried my skin felt quite tight until I moisturised. Once I’d moisturised though, my skin did feel nicely hydrated.

Although this did a good job as a hydrating serum, I do prefer my Soap & Glory serum as it’s equally hydrating, but also brightening. I think because of the natural ingredients in Green People, you’d probably find after using this for a few months that your skin would improve as it slowly detoxes from ingredients that may be agitating on your skin. Personally, I don’t think I am ready to go all natural in my skin care. I’ve already gone natural with my hair care, stopped eating meat and started training for a half marathon in the past two months. I need some guilty pleasures left in my life!

You can grab the full size (50ml) for £15.99 here OR you can get a 10ml sample size for £3.95 here. Considering my sachet was 2ml and the amount I used, the sample size will last you at least a couple of weeks. Could be worth getting if you’re thinking about going au natural.

Are you picky about products you use on your skin?
