Sample Sunday #19

Yet another Saturday night and I’m writing up my sample Sunday. Good thing I don’t have much of a crazy life eh? Although next week I am going to a fancy dress party (as Baby Spice, obviously…). I’ve started my half marathon training, so I’ve been running three times a week after work (as well as gymming in my lunch) and not getting home until after 7, it’s a tiring life and I’ve definitely been slacking on the blog front! It will be worth it when I cross that finish line. Erm, if I cross it anyway.

Manuka Doctor face mask dry skin

I got this ages ago. Like, probably around eight months ago. It takes me a while to get around to things I guess. The face mask has an impressive natural ingredient list (manuka honey, propolis extract, purified bee venom, royal jelly, kaolin light clay, rosehip seed oil, blackcurrant seed oil, vitamin E, cocoa butter and shea butter – in that order) which are all meant to help deeply hydrate your skin, as well as speed up cell regeneration, boost collagen, renew damaged skin cells and help to reduce scars and wrinkles. I’m not wrinkly just yet, but I do like a good moisturising mask now and then!

To get the benefits, they do advise that you use the mask twice a week so I wasn’t really expecting to see much of an improvement after one mask. After cleansing my face, I applied a layer of the mask to my skin. I did genuinely attempt to do a thin layer, but the mask is very thick and stodgy so that didn’t work out too well! Even though the mask was thick, I didn’t need much to do my entire face, and the sample was seriously bulging so I have at least another masks worth!

The mask can be left on for up to half an hour, and in this time your skin is meant to absorb it but I found that it didn’t absorb too well; it kind of absorbed but also kind of hardened on my face leaving my skin a bit stiff! After the half an hour was up, I had a shower and washed it off. Normally once I’ve washed my face in the shower, my skin normally dries out as I’m shampooing etc but I actually didn’t find this happened, and once I was out and had serumed and moisturised my skin felt a lot softer and smoother than normal, without being overloaded.

I was surprised how nourished my skin felt after just one use of this, so I can imagine that regular use really would make a difference to my skin. Which isn’t surprising, considering it has detoxing kaolin clay and honey, and nourishing rosehip oil and cocoa butter to say the least! I don’t really know how well it would do for wrinkles if I’m honest, as I don’t know how effective natural ingredients are for age reversal but if you’re just after healthy skin, it’s a good’un!

You can buy the Rejuvenating Face Mask here, where it is actually reduced for £49.99 to £24.99! So if you fancy giving it a try, now is the time to buy!
