Sample Sunday #7

I can’t believe this is my seventh Sample Sunday! That means it’s been nearly two months since I started my series. Time really does fly! I should be heading back to university this week but I’m not, and it’s really upsetting actually. I find the idea of working every week day for the rest of my life incredibly boring and crap, to be honest. I am still coming to terms with being a graduate, I guess!

Anyway, on to this weeks sample. It’s Yves Saint Laurent Forever Youth Liberator Eye Cream. I’ve only ever used Benefit It’s Potent eye cream, and I found it okay but nothing special. Truth be told, I get huge dark eye circles really easily and nothing seems to budge them so I kind of ignore eye creams rather than trying them!

YSL Forever Eye Cream

For an eye cream, I felt this was quite thick and rich. I feel like eye creams should normally be quite a thin consistency? Despite the thickness, I found the cream to absorb really well, as well as being incredibly soothing. I think it is lightly fragranced, which I wouldn’t say is ideal for an eye cream as the skin is a lot more delicate than your normal skin. That being said, I’ve used this twice a day for the past week and I’ve not had any troubles with it irritating my eyes.

Almost instantly after using YSL Forever Youth Liberator, I felt like my under eyes were less hollow, and slightly brighter. Noting dramatic, I don’t think a randomer would be able to notice but personally, I felt like this did plump and brighten up my circles. I also felt like the appearance of my bags improved a tiny bit over the course of trialling it out.

Now, I was all like ooh this is really good, maybe I’ll repurchase because ya know, I am 22 so maybe I should be thinking about eye creams. And I googled it to see how much it would set me back for and I wish I hadn’t, ignorance is bliss and all! 15ml costs a whopping £44, which is all kinds of crazy considering how small 15ml is. I think it would probably last a long time, as you only need a teeny tiny bit per eye but at this moment in time, I am not prepared to pay £44 for an eye cream when I am potentially up to 10 years away from my first crows feet. I do need to get an eye cream for when this runs out, as I am enjoying looking slightly more alert, but I think I’ll save the YSL Forever Youth Liberator Eye Cream for a time when I have a bit more money, and a bit more age, than I do now.

If you’re worried about wrinkles and have money spare, I would recommend this. You can get it here.

Have you got any slightly more budget friendly eye creams I could try?

Lovely review. You go into a lot more detail that other reviews for cosmetics I’ve read. I would love to try this. x
