Degustabox*

I love food and post so when I was asked if I’d like to receive a Desgustabox* this month, I basically nearly wet myself I as so excited. Degustabox is a food subscription box which sends you a huge box every month with a variety of foods inside. The subscription is only £12.99 which is insane, considering the amount that comes in!

I’ll set the scene. It’s 8.10am on Friday morning and the doorbell goes. I’m basically a zombie, as I had the day off to pack before going home for the weekend. Scott lost the battle of who answered the door, and I was drifting back to sleep when he came in with this huge box with Degustabox written over it. I literally jumped out of bed, grabbed the box and started ripping it open. I was like a kid at Christmas. Mysterious food delivery? Yes please. I was so surprised at the contents! I didn’t expect there to be so much.

Jordan’s Simply Granola (£2.69)

I love Jordan’s cereal (it’s my favourite brand next to Dorset Cereals), but being a poor student-come-graduate I tend to go for the own brand cereals. They have all been pushed to the back of my cupboard for this granola to take the limelight. I had a bowl Monday morning and it’s so nice! Crunchy, sweet, and filling. The only thing I would say is I’d love to see some raisins and almond flakes in there, but obviously if you go for simply granola you probably don’t!

Burts Lentil Waves (60p each)

These are crisps, made out of lentil flour. I didn’t even know that was a thing! I’ve never heard of these before but I tried the sour cream flavour as soon as I’d photographed it and they’re actually really nice. Plus, they’re only 99 calories and like 5p more expensive than regular crisps so if I see these out and about I’ll grab some.

Elizabeth Shaw Dark Chocolate Mint Thins (£2.50)

You know Christmas is around the corner when mint chocolate comes out. I’ve never tried these, but they smell amazing and I haven’t even opened the box! My cupboard where I’m keeping them smells minty and chocolatey. I have a feeling once I open them, they’ll be gone within minutes so I’m saving them for now.

Little Miracles (£1.59 each)

I got my Degustabox on Friday, and I was drinking on Saturday so I made sure to take the orange flavour home with me for Sunday. It’s absolutely delicious, very refreshing but the hint of ginger gives it a kick that wakes you up. They’re only 90 calories which makes them the ideal drink for those days you need a boost without any guilt. Due to the price, I wouldn’t buy these often (I carry around a water bottle with me) but I’ll definitely be getting these in advance for hangover days.

Crabbies (£.120-£1.50 each)

I’ve never actually tried Crabbies, but the raspberry and ginger beer sounds like such a good combination! Not sure how I feel about the lemon flavoured beer, as I’m not a huge fan of lemon things but Scott loves alcohol and lemonade so he’s excited to try this.

Nestle Carnation Cook With It (£1.65 each)

I’ve never seen this around, but they sound amazing! Anything Nestle makes is normally so thick and creamy, so how they’ve made a creamy thing with half the fat of single cream is beyond me. I’m excited to try this in a carbonara (as they have a recipe on the side of the pack) and I also think I’m going to use it to make a curry!

Nestle Carnation Cook With It

Righteous (73p each)

These are such cute little salad dressings, and perfect for taking in with lunch! I hate pre-dressing salads as they get soggy and gross, but taking in a full bottle of dressing is silly. At 73p, they’re not the cheapest way of dressing a salad but the flavours are so unusual that I definitely think it would be a good lunch time treat! I’m looking forward to trying the raspberry and basil one the most.

Pick Up (£1.69 each)

I’ve seen these floating around recently but I always go for a KitKat when I need a chocolate fix. I’m excited to try them, although having chocolate around the house is a dangerous thing for anyone eating healthily! The Black ‘n’ White ones look amazing, chocolate biscuit with white chocolate filling? Yum.

La Vieja Fabrica Marmalade (£1.59)

I’ve never tried marmalade. Is that mad? I watched a Come Dine With Me Episode recently and he put marmalade in every course! Scott likes marmalade and I like jars so it’ll definitely get appreciated.

I just am so in love with the idea of Degustabox. What I love the most is it allows me to try brands and products I wouldn’t normally, as well as providing me little treats that I wouldn’t think to get otherwise. It would make an amazing Christmas present too, either for any foodies or those who are stuck in the same food shop routine! The value of the box is over £20, so you’re making a ‘profit’ so to speak, and I think it will definitely help to get me experimenting more with food that I wouldn’t always do.

Would I recommend Degustabox? Yes. I’ve been lusting over them for a while and now I’ve had one, I’m hooked. Yay! Check out their site here
