Homemade BBQ Sauce / S.W.

I found this recipe for syn free BBQ sauce on an online forum and had to try it. I adapted it to ingredients I had, although making sure it remained syn free (and freaking delicious) but here is the original recipe in case you think mine isn’t good enough. Hint, it is!

This sauce was really stunning, perfect barbeque flavour, rich and so tasty!

Ingredients
1 medium red onion, finely chopped
1 red pepper, deseeded and finely chopped
1 tsp cayenne pepper powder
1 tsp garlic powder
230ml passata
4 tbsp balsamic vinegar
3 tbsp sweetener
1 tbsp worcestershire sauce

Saute the onions and pepper in the garlic and cayenne powder until the onions start to brown (about 3 minutes). In a jug, add all the ingredients and stir. Pour this over the onions, bring to the boil and then simmer for 10 minutes. It goes lovely, gloopy and thick and tastes amazing!

I poured this over skinless chicken legs, peppers and baby tomatoes and cooked for 45 minutes, to create the most perfect barbeque chicken ever! I served this with homemade Slimming World sweet potato fries and homemade 2 syns coleslaw. Perfect.

Reckon you will try this? Let me know if you do!
