Pretty POREfect / Review & Swatches
If you follow Benefit on twitter, you’ll know that they have a #Poreoclock daily competition, which I enter EVERY day. I haven’t won, but I did get a free sample voucher which I got from the Benefit counter in Debenhams. I didn’t want to like the POREfessional balm, as it’s quite dear (I’m also not sure what it is, I feel like it’s a primer but it’s not?) but I absolutely fell in love with it! Plus my tiny sample lasted a whole week, showing that it wasn’t going to run out quickly, but I was still reluctant to buy it.
Luckily for me, I also needed some new eyecream so this set was basically a steal at only £24.50, as it contained the POREfessional balm, a brightening primer and eye cream. I paid for it on my student finance bank account so it was basically free anyway…
After moisturising, I used the That Gal primer. It was much lighter than any primer I’ve used before, and didn’t feel as matte/ silicone-y. The tube is only tiny but a little went a long way, and it did make my skin seem brighter, so it’s a thumbs up from me.
The Potent eye cream is designed to brighten dark under eye circles, which it actually did do. However, I got some in the inner corner of my eye and it stung like an absolute bitch which I think is a really bad quality in eye creams! I will be using it, but I’m going to be really careful when applying it. No point reducing circles if it’s going to make your eye go bright red!
The POREfessional balm is my favourite. It just completely blurs pores, especially on my nose and the cheek area around it, my middle forehead and my chin, so the skin looks smooth and healthy. If I didn’t have such bad acne scarring, I’d be happy wearing just the balm and my Maybelline Dream BB Cream, as it would be a lovely natural healthy look. Sadly, my cheeks look like a dot to dot picture without a lot of coverage so I can’t but for those with perfect but pore-y skin, you should be okay with just this!
All in all, I am so glad I bit the bullet and bought this set. I think they all work together really well to brighten up your face and smooth your skin, so I think it was money well spent. I probably wouldn’t have bought the balm on its own before, but I love it so much now that if this set no longer exists, I won’t mind spending the money.
This was actually my first Benefit buy! What are your favourite products of theirs? Have you tried the POREfessional range, or are you going to? Let me know!
