I discovered Inkkas last year at Isle of Wight festival. I met a girl who was promoting them, and happened to live in the same town as me! She loved me (who doesn’t, ha!) and gave me a pair of mango Inkkas in exchange for a bit of leafleting at Lattitude Festival.
Recently, I saw a tweet by Inkkas showing Fearne Cotton wearing a pair and I tweeted saying I was glad they were finally getting UK recognition, as I’d had mine so long they were worn out! I didn’t expect any more of my tweet, until they contacted me saying they would be happy to give me a new pair*! What absolute babes, eh? I picked the most beautiful rainbow suede slip ons and a few days later they were mine to wear proudly.
Inkkas are all handmade in Peru, using genuine Perisian textiles. They are ethically sourced, and Inkkas have teamed up with Trees For The Future, so a tree is planted for every pair purchased. They are currently being sold in Topshop Oxford, and I can see them being a huge hit in the future! They’re so different to other shoes, and are extremely boho and fresh. Plus, they give back to the world and I think that’s needed in the currently climate!
Have you ever heard of Inkkas? What do you think?
You can find the whole collection of Inkkas here.
*I was sent these shoes free, but not for purpose of review. All opinions are my own.
