IÂ like discovering new brands on Twitter. It makes me feel like I’m ahead of the game. I’m not, but it’s nice to pretend.
I stumbled across Skinny V, and intrigued by the ‘Skinny’ component, had a browse on their twitter and website. I must be one of the only people in the world who does not have a coke addiction; I rarely drink anything other than water or squash. I do enjoy an occasional carbonated beverage, but with a choice between calories or aspartame, it often doesn’t seem worth it.
Skinny V is a zero calorie drink without preservatives, additives and artificial sweeteners. It uses Stevia, which I find really interesting because I watched an episode of Food Unwrapped about Stevia, and it is genuinely just an insanely sweet plant, rather than something man made.
Short on google time, thanks to my dissertation, I emailed the PR for Skinny V and got sent a press release. Here are the basics of Skinny V:
It currently has five flavours, which include apple, peach, lemonade and berry. The fifth flavour is ‘Skinny Bull’
It’s a favourite with celebs, with Queen Bey rocking some at the Brits
The managing director created Skinny V as a solution to a lack of diabetic-friendly mixers
Skinny V has 75% of your RDA of vitamins B1, B3, B6, B12 and C. The website has a list of benefits that these vitamins have if you want to have a look.
It contains zero sugar, calories or carbs and is 100% natural
I’ve not tried Skinny V but it sounds pretty cool, I wouldn’t have thought of using it as a mixer with alcohol but actually, that’s a good idea. I used to be convinced that taking vitamins before a night out would prevent a hangover, and it worked until I ran out of vitamins. On their website, they have some mixology section with cocktail/ mixer ideas.
I don’t know how much Skinny V will cost, I’m guessing not cheap, what with its celebrity endorsements and health benefits. I will probably stick to Asda value lemonade for mixing my drinks, but might treat myself to a hangover Skinny V once in a while!
