Sample Sunday #15

IMG_2305I am wrinkle free (and hopefully will be for a few more years!) but I am one of those people that could sleep for a year and wake up with dark under eyes. If I’ve not had enough sleep, my eyes are both dark and puffy, if I’ve had a good amount of sleep they’re just dark. I don’t consistently use eye cream, but it is something I want to start incorporating into my beauty regime as let’s face it, I would like to remain fresh eyed for as long as possible!

This week’s sample is Vichy Idealia Eye Contour Idealizer. After falling in love with the YSL Forever eye cream I tried a few Sample Sunday’s back, this had a lot to live up to. According to Vichy, the Idealizer soothes eyes, reduces fine lines, hydrates and softens the eye area and brightens dark circles, making eyes look brighter, smoother and more awake. It’s paraben free, non comdegenic, and hypoallergenic, which is nice to hear as products you use on your eyes are a lot closer to your blood steam due to the thinness of the skin.

Although the sample size is so small, I managed to get a few uses out of it, which shows a little goes a long way. When I first went to use it, I was thrown off by the colour; it’s a similar look to the Porefessional! I had to check it was meant to use as an eye cream, rather than a kind of concealer, but you do use it with your skin care so I think the colour is to help short term illumination. The formula is seriously silky and feels lovely and soothing on tired eyes. Immediately after using, my eyes do feel a lot more hydrated and look slightly less dark and puffy.

Overall, I am impressed with the results I’ve had in the few times I’ve used it. Obviously, I don’t know if it’s superficial improvement or whether it is dong long term good but if you’re looking for an eye cream, it’s a pretty good place to start. At RRP £23, it’s not cheap but it’s £20 cheaper than the YSL eye cream, making it a lot more affordable for similar results. It’s currently on offer at £19.55 on Escentual.
