I love peanut butter. On toast, with bananas, straight from the jar… It’s so nice! So when I was given the chance to review Peanut Hottie*, a peanut butter flavoured hot drink powder, I nearly died.
I’m not going to talk about the packaging because frankly, who cares? It holds the powder, job done. Once the lid is off, the peanut butter aroma instantly hits your nose. It smells amazing, like when you’ve spread peanut butter on hot toast and it melts and the smell just fills your house. That, in a jar. To make your hottie, you just add 4-5 heaped teaspoons to hot water, and stir. Voila!
Have you ever had a peanut butter Kitkat? The peanut hottie is literally a liquid drink version of that exact peanut butter. It’s incredibly baffling drinking peanut butter. I’m used to having that thick, sticky texture to peanut butter so losing that experience is a bit mind boggling. I think it will definitely take a few cups to get used to it! The taste is lovely though, a really nice comforting alternative to hot chocolate. It’s also only 83 calories a cup, which is roughly the same calories as a spoon of peanut butter. And seeing as that peanut butter is normally (although not always!) accompanied by toast, it’s a lower calorie way of getting your peanut butter hit.
